Qnap nas plex media server11/14/2022 I am basically HOPING that the issue is only the LAN and that I can adjust the placement of the NAS to be a more reliable streaming device. I feel like my internal LAN is causing issues when streaming. I would love to be able to have 4k movies on my NAS and seamless stream them through my receiver into my TV and still enjoy 7.2 surround sound with all of the fancy Dolby Atmos etc, and HDR technologies. I don't want my NAS to be a bottleneck, especially considering how much I spent on it. I plan to invest in a 4k receiver and 4k TV with HDR and seriously bump up the configuration of my home theater. Can I run the NAS from the living room, place it on the router, but also run an HDMI to the TV (through the AV receiver for surround sound)? Is this possible to do and would I see an improvement on quality and performance? I am looking for advice in this area because ultimately, I am moving next year into a brand new home. My question is in regards to my NAS placement. Obviously the ideal scenario is to just get Blu-rays to guarantee that this does not happen, but is it possible to avoid this without giving up on my NAS setup? This doesn't happen often, but often enough that it can deter from the overall enjoyment of the setup. #Qnap nas plex media server movie#I do see some jitteryness on movies and sometimes a few seconds of the movie will be skipped with extreme pixelation. Everything works fairly fine, even when transcoding. I have 2 TVs with a PS4 on each TV and each one runs the Plex App and can stream the movies and shows. I run Plex Media Server on a QNAP TVS-471-i3-4G-US. I am writing this post in hopes to better understand and plan out my future home theater configuration.
